One of my favourite things about Singapore is that we have easy access to cheap and delicious hawker fare. Out of all the options, I love a good bowl of hot soupy mee hoon kuay. Mee Hoon Kuay basically is some handmade dough ripped into pieces and cooked in delicious porky broth. Minced pork and egg (if you like) are typically also added to it!
I would say the best part of Mee Hoon Kuay at Nam Kee (at its Turf City/Grandstand outlet) is its flavourful broth! It’s rich and tasty and the pieces of dough are of the texture that I love – springy and chewy. It’s also really cheap ($3.50 a bowl!!) and they’re made-to-order so you get them really fresh and hot!
