Wormrot, a 3-man grindcore music band, is set to become the first Singaporean band to play at the famous Glastonbury Festival, a British music festival that will be headlined by huge stars like Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry in June this year.
For those unfamiliar with the genre, grindcore music draws inspiration from genres like hardcore punk and metal, and is characterised by a heavily-distorted, abrasive sound.
This year, the Glastonbury Festival will feature a stage dedicated to metal, rock and punk acts for the first time. Wormrot, which signed with British metal record label Earache Records in 2010, will join this exclusive line-up alongside other names like Extreme Noise Death, Napalm Death and Steve Ignorant’s Slice of Life.
Tickets for the festival are already sold out.
