Homemade Face Masks Recipes

Sometimes, going all natural can be the best remedy for your skin. Try these homemade face mask recipes for healthy glowing skin.

For Combination Skin

Avocado Coconut Oil Facemask

Combination skin is simply having a mix of dry and oily skin on different parts of your face, which can be problematic, as you will require both oil control and dry skin hydration. Coconut oil and avocado are perfect as they have both hydrating and oil controlling properties.


¼ of a ripe avocado

1 tbsp coconut oil

Combine the two ingredients together to form a smooth paste. Apply the paste on your skin. Wash off the face mask after 10 to 20 minutes.

For Acne-prone Skin

Tumeric, Milk and Honey Facemask

The recipe uses honey, which is great for acne-prone skin as it has antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It also helps in reducing redness and inflammation caused by acne.


1 tsp of Tumeric powder,

1 tsp of organic honey

1-2 tsp of milk

Mix one teaspoon of tumeric powder and one teaspoon of honey in a small bowl. Add one to two teaspoons of milk and mix well to form a thin paste. Apply the paste to your face using a makeup brush to avoid staining your fingers. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Apply this face mask twice or thrice a week.

If the paste leaves a yellowish hue on your skin after washing it off, soak a cotton ball in milk and rub it on the stained areas. Baby wipes work as well.

For Oily Skin

Tomato Facemask

One of the best natural astringent that can be found in the kitchen, tomatoes are great for oily skin and can help to dissolve extra oil and reduce large pores.


½ of a tomato

Mash up the tomato in a bowl and apply on the oily areas on your face for about 15 minutes. Use this facemask twice or twice a week.

For Dry Skin

Aloe Vera and Avocado Mask

This all-natural face mask is effective in hydrating and softening dry chapped skin. It also works well for sunburnt skin as it contains aloe vera, which has natural healing agents.


½ a ripe avocado

2 tbsp of Aloe Vera gel

1 tbsp of runny honey

1 tsp of almond/coconut oil

1 ½ tbsp of dry oatmeal (not the instant oatmeal powder)

Using a spoon, mash up the avocado in a bowl until it turns into a fine pulp without lumps. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Mix well until the mixture forms a uniform paste. Apply the paste onto your skin and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Rinse the mask off with lukewarm water and a warm washcloth.
